Are you addicted to the scale too?

This only happens to me when I am on a diet, but I use a piece of plastic and metal to tell me whether or not I have been doing what I am supposed to do. Something is wrong with this picture. I know that I have been measuring and counting calories and that I have been good. I know I should not be so dependent on the scale to confirm that. I guess it is only normal. Anybody else with ideas on this subject?

  1. I am totally addicted to the scale. I weigh every morning and it can color my whole day. I recently started working out and doing some weight lifting and strength training and I gained two pounds and it really hurt my feelings! Even though I feel healthier and stronger, the number on the scale rules my life.

  2. I was watching Dr. Oz the other day though and he said that anytime you start to work out, you are going to weigh more. Your muscles swell causing you to gain some weight, but it is not actual body weight, just the swelling. I agree with you that what the scale says colors my whole day. I hope that some day I can get over that. Keep up the good work girl!
